WHAT TO DO BEFORE A COLON HYDROTHERAPY SESSION

These suggestions have been found to be very helpful in obtaining good bowel response and promoting a more productive session.

Two days prior to your Colon Hydrotherapy session, we suggest eliminating all dairy products (particularly cheese), carbohydrates (breads, white rice, potatoes & pasta), red meat, and pork from your diet.  Drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of bottled, distilled or filtered water daily-this will assist in the cleansing process.

In the 24 hours prior to your session, we suggest a “Juice Fast” primarily with organic seasonal vegetables and fruits.  If this presents too much of a challenge for you, make this a day of all raw vegetables and fruits.  When eating salads try not to use very heavy creamy or cheese based dressings.

On the day of your session you may continue juicing or eat lightly, mostly vegetables and fruits.  Do not eat two hours immediately prior to your appointment.

Once you arrive at our office we will ask you to fill out a questionnaire.  When this has been completed we will discuss your goals and concerns or any questions you may have.

Once you are comfortable to proceed we will ask you to empty your bladder, then disrobe from waist down (a gown is provided), while lying down you are covered with a drape and your modesty is fully respected.

IF YOUR DIET IS MEDICALLY SUPERVISED, PLEASE DISREGARD ANY CONTRADICTORY SUGGESTIONS AND ADHERE TO YOUR DOCTOR’S REQUIREMENTS

Company Policy: Unconfirmed appointments will be released at the close of business prior to the day of your appointment.  We work from a cancellation list, to better serve our clients, so it is important that we know your status.

Women: If you are on your cycle, you are still able to get a colonic

AFTER A COLON HYDROTHERAPY SESSION

At the close of your session, you will have an opportunity to use the bathroom in order to release any residual waste or water.  Some may need more time than others or may need to use the bathroom more than once; however, it is rare that a colon hydrotherapy session will interfere with the normal functioning of your day.

You should wait two hours before eating after your session.  The body has started the process of detoxification and you may experience a heightened sensitivity to what you ingest.

We suggest that you abstain from gas-producing foods (listed below),, any foods you may be allergic to and in the event of a candida condition, you should omit fruits as well.  At this time food allergies you were previously unaware of may present themselves.  This is a perfect opportunity to listen to your body and observe how it responds as you reintroduce different foods into your diet.

**** Taking Acidophilus or Bifidus at this time may be helpful****

GAS PRODUCING FOODS:
BeansBroccoli
Brussel SproutsCabbage
OnionsPeppers

Sometimes raw vegetables will increase gas production particularly, if the body is not used to digesting raw foods.

SUGGESTED FOOD ALTERNATIVES:
Steamed VegetablesSoups (Miso or Vegetable)
FruitsBaked fish or poultry
Chamomile or Peppermint tea is relaxing
Potassium Rich Foods (green veggies, oranges, red potatoes, sunflower seeds, & whole grains)

The movements of the colon muscles and the resulting releases may leave you feeling empty and relaxed.  It is not unusual to wait 2-3 days for the first bowel movements to resume.  It is suggested that you continue to maintain a diet high in fiber and continue to drink plenty of water to encourage bowel elimination.

To compliment your experience, we suggest castor oil packs. If you are not hypertensive, we also suggest taking very warm detoxifying baths using ˝ cup Epsom salt, ˝ cup baking soda, and/or ˝ cup of sea salt. Deep breathing, yoga, walking, exercise, squatting, stretching, dry skin brushing and quiet time are also helpful.
